Amelia Island

Kevin has the week off between Christmas and New Years so we decided at the last minute that we were going to take a trip to Amelia Island here in Florida. First we went to the little shops and got some ice cream...

Then we went to explore a Civil War era fort- Fort Clinch. The kids loved seeing all of the equipment that was used. I can only imagine how cold the winter nights would have been like and how hot it would have been in the summers. Their living quarters made me feel grateful for what we have today. Avery and Boston's favorite part was being able to pick out a piece of candy at the general store.

While Boston took a nap in the car Avery went to a Kingsley Plantation where she learned how they used to pick and spin cotton. She was obsessed with spinning cotton with her hands for hours. I'm amazed at how fascinated my kids are with the simplest things. I love it.

Christmas Morning

On Christmas morning, our kids were excited to see what Santa had brought them. We made them sit at the top of the stairs while we got the camera ready. They look so sleepy in all of these pictures. Avery got just what she wanted, "Baby, alive" and "real pixie dust" (she thought that if she had some, she might be able to fly). Boston got a guitar and remote control car. After we opened gifts we went over to see the Osorio fam for Christmas breakfast.

Gingerbread Houses

Every year the Morris Family does Gingerbread Houses during the Christmas season. I definitely wanted to keep the tradition going when we moved to Florida. This year we did them at my parents house. We had a great time. My favorite was Ty's, he got creative and mimicked my parents home and put a pool and a sport court in the backyard. It's always fun to see how different each little house turns out.

I was so proud of Avery she did her Gingerbread House all by herself this year! I love her cute little heart she made with two candy canes!

We wish you a Merry Christmas

A couple days before Christmas the whole Osorio family was able to get together. We went to breakfast at Disney's Boardwalk and whenever we are at the Boardwalk we end up renting a 11 person Bicycle. This year we were able to squeeze 13 people in. We always have a lot of fun riding and this year couldn't be any cheesier. My Dad started singing Christmas carols and everyone joined in. Yes we got a couple odd looks but hey, we had fun.

Gingerbread House

This year we went with our friends the Fields to see a giant gingerbread house, made out of real gingerbread at one of the Disney Hotels. Surprisingly there are many things you can do at Disney that are free, this being one of them.

Merry Christmas

Avery's teacher wanted me to come and take a picture of her Kindergarten class. I help her every Monday in the classroom and have enjoyed meeting all of Avery's friends. They are such a great group of kids!

Garmin Forerunner 305

So now that Christmas is coming up I decided that I would post my favorite thing, in case any of you out there need any ideas. It's the Garmin forerunner 305. Kev gave it to me for Mothers Day and it is honestly the best gift I have ever gotten. So if there is someone out there that is really special on your list, you might want to consider this.

This has helped me in so many ways when I am running. Not only does it tell you what speed you are going, your elevation, how many miles you have completed, your heart rate and the elapsed time, but when you are done it shows you the map of where you ran or biked or whatever you choose to do. It also counts calories and lets you be alarmed for mileage, heart rate or pace. Everything can download to your computer and help you set up goals or workouts. It's definitely my favorite gift I ever got from Kevin and I would die if I lost it. You can buy it on Costco.com, which is my favorite place to buy anything because of their great return policy.
